First Presbyterian Church of Augusta & Vernon Center

On Christmas Eve we gather for a candle light service with special music from the choir and from musicians in the church.

Our Pastor



Jay G. Williams III has been pastor at Augusta Presbyterian since 2001. He is a Commissioned Lay Pastor having received training through the Utica Presbytery. He is a graduate of Hamilton College. He and his wife Lilly have three children and reside in Clinton, NY.

Who We Are

We are committed Christians, faithful to following God's command to make disciples of all nations.

Our worship is casual and informal. Everyone is asked to come as they are.

We are like a family. We spend time each week sharing our joys and concerns with each other and praying for each others needs.

We are faithful to God's word. Each week we hear the good news and are challenged to share Jesus' message of love with others.
